Bird barrio

Every cloudless afternoon, a gang of fluffed-up House Sparrows fills the thorny bush next to our front door, basking in the yellow sunlight. They look like live tree ornaments.

This Ring-billed Gull was stalking around the parking lot next to the marina and the narrow-gauge train. At one point a disembodied crab leg (not pictured) was encountered, tested for edibility, and discarded.
