Latest project: I'm recently back from a year of sketching seabirds in New Zealand.
See National Geographic's
story about my project.
See my expedition journal.
Today I spent five hours watching birds on a famous "migrant trap" island, 12 miles off the coast of Maine, during peak migration season. Somehow this is the only drawing that came out of the experience:
Left to right: invasive Green Crab (whose shell turned from purple-green to red-orange since I picked it up on the beach a week ago), Atlantic Rock Crab (otherwise known as Peekytoe), and Jonah Crab.
